His sacrifice, not mine. I haven't earned anything. I do wear my Grandfather's Navy ring PROUDLY on patriotic holidays. It reminds me and anyone who sees it ('cause I WILL tell them) just how damn much freedom costs.

Anyway, to the meat of the idea. Any time I am in a drinking/dining/evening social establishment, the first enlisted US military serviceman (or woman) I see in uniform will not be able to purchase a drink or food for themselves while I am there. I admit to looking in the following service order, but hey, it is my money: Air Force, Navy, Marines, then anyone else. I pay the bartender/waitron, etc. NOT to take their money. Only for their own drinks, I can't pay for a whole platoon, I have my own kids to feed. Just my way of saying thanks. I do discourage the staff from telling, but if the individual gets insistant, I sometimes get found out. I can't really say WHY I do this, only I think I should. I just wish everyone who reads this web site would do the same. If you can't afford it every time you go out, then do it when you can.

We owe these folks. It's time to pay up, regardless of how the damn politicians want to waste our money.
